March 2026 Newsletter

Happy March everyone, hopefully Spring is just around the corner. Thanks to everyone who attended our membership meeting on the 19th. It was a short, fun meeting and the food was great. I encourage members to participate in these meetings (in person or via Zoom) as your input is vital to our success as a group. It also gives us a chance to socialize "out of the water". 

We welcomed Sundance Benjesdorf and his family as new members. 

Another tidbit of info is that registration for the Shakedown Cruise is closed as it is at capacity. If you'd like to get on a wait list, please contact Vickie Olson @ olsonvj@aol.com.

Attached are the minutes from our last meeting. Please give them a quick review as we will be voting to approve them at our next meeting, March 12th. at BMR. Potluck dinner starts at 6 and the meeting starts at 6:30. I'd also like to get the 2026 Budget approved.

A great suggestion was made at the meeting that we highlight a boating family throughout the year in these newsletters. 

This month, we'd like to highlight Char & Ken Malseed. 

Char joined in the W&K in 1983 with her late husband Bob Kehoe. After Bob's passing, Char was introduced to Ken in 1990, and they were married June 15th, 1991, at the Roche Harbor "Bottom Fishing Derby and Wedding."Since 2015, Char has making Knitted Knockers breast prosthetics. Ken started stuffing KKs in 2020. He has stuffed 20,240. 

Thank you for everything you do for our community and club.

For those of you who missed the installation dinner on Jan 4th, it was a great time and you were missed. Wade did a great job as MC and swore in the new 2026 Bridge:

Vicki has asked that I send out a reminder about the Shakedown Cruise with BYC. Folks will need to sign up on the BYC website link so they can get a headcount of who's going.  If you have questions, reach out to Vicky at  olsonvj@aol.com

Don't forget to update your member profile on our website. 

To access the BW&K website and update your Profile information:

1. Access the website with this link.

Wheel and Keel - Home

2. Located at the top right corner of the HOME page, click on “Log in”.

3. Enter your Email.  This will be the primary email that you use. 

Most likely your Log in Email is the BW&K email you just received this notice on. 

4. Enter your Password.

If you have misplaced your password then click on “Forgot password”.

This action icon is located just below the “I’m not a robot” box.

A new password will be sent to your BW&K primary email that you use.

Don’t worry, you can change your Password at any time, once logged in.

5. Check the “I’m not a robot” box. A green check will appear.

6. Click on the “Log in” black box.

7. You are now logged in.

If not, then try using any other email address that you receive

emails from BW&K.

If this still does not work, please contact Darrin Wisbey or Mary Burns

or any of the Bridge members for assistance over the phone.

8. After getting logged in, you will see your name

located at the top right corner of all pages.

Note: Just to the right of your name is where you can

Change your password.

9. Click on your name (Top right on page).

This will take you to “My profile” page.

Scroll down the page and check all information.

Click on “My directory profile”

Scroll down the page and check all information.

If all is correct, then you are done.

Special Note: Under “Membership details" is where you can enter or

Update/delete your Credit Card information for the Annual Dues.

Using this feature will really help make Mary’s life easier.

10. To update any information, click on the

“Edit profile” in the black box

11. Update/enter the information in the appropriate box.

12. At the bottom of the page, in the black box select

 “Save” or “Cancel” your updates.

13. Review all Profile information once more.

If your information is correct, you are done.

Normally our meetings are the 2nd Thursday of a non-boating season month. Since I was reminded of the meeting yesterday (Thanks Kathy) I'd like to postpone it until next Thursday, 6pm at BMR. This will give our treasurer a chance to get the financials prepared.
